Performance and Conference Inspires Educators

Sacred Heart University hosted a two-day human rights conference on June 10-11, which  featured a play and photo exhibit illuminating abject human rights abuses around the globe and the stories of those who rose above oppression.

 

The conference, sponsored by the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU), Sacred Heart University, and The Robert F. Kennedy Memorial, focused on the juxtaposition between Catholic social justice principles and international human rights advocacy. Read more...

Golfers Support Scholarship Fund

Nearly 100 golfers swung their clubs under picture-perfect skies Monday, June 2 to support the Sacred Heart University Scholarship Fund during the 19th Annual Pioneer Open. The tournament took place at the Rockrimmon Country Club in Stamford, Conn., where golfers enjoyed dinner, camaraderie and an awards presentation. Sacred Heart University student-athlete Lisa Moray of Hopewell Junction, NY passed away on June 18 as the result of an auto accident near her home in Dutchess County, NY. Lisa, a senior at Sacred Heart, was a four-year member of the women's basketball team. "This was a tragic ending to a very promising life of someone who we cared about a great deal," said Director of Athletics, Don Cook. Read more...
